Privacy Policy
Last updated · July 15, 2026
ClipCam ("we", "us", "ClipCam") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over your data. It applies to the ClipCam mobile apps (iOS and Android), the ClipCam web app, and the marketing website at clipcam.app.
What we collect
- Account info — email or phone number, used to send sign-in codes (OTP). We never ask for or store passwords.
- Profile info you choose to provide — display name and avatar.
- Media you record or upload — your camera videos, source clips, and the finished exports we render for you. Stored encrypted at rest in our cloud until you delete them or close your account.
- Subscription info — plan tier, transaction/subscription IDs, and renewal status. Payment card and bank details are never sent to us; our payment processors handle those directly — Razorpay on the web, and the Apple App Store / Google Play on mobile.
- Device info — model, OS version, app version, language, and crash diagnostics. Used to fix bugs and prioritize fixes.
- Usage analytics — which screens you visit, how long an export takes, error rates. Aggregated; never linked to specific people in marketing reports.
- Advertising data — when ads are shown, your device's advertising identifier and limited ad-interaction data, collected by Google AdMob to serve and measure ads. See the Advertising section below.
How we use it
- Run the service — authenticate you, store and stream your media, render your exports, and deliver them back to you.
- Send transactional messages — OTP codes, plan changes, export-ready notifications. Required for the service to work.
- Improve the product — diagnose crashes, measure performance, decide what to build next.
- Comply with the law — respond to lawful requests when we have a legal obligation to do so.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share strictly what's needed with the service providers below (and, for ads, the advertising partners described in the Advertising section), all bound by data-processing agreements:
- Cloud hosting — Google Cloud (Cloud Run) for the API and Cloudflare R2 for media storage. Your media stays in our accounts.
- Authentication and notifications — our auth service hosted on Google Cloud, Firebase Cloud Messaging for push, an email provider for OTP delivery.
- Payments — Razorpay processes web subscription payments; the Apple App Store (iOS) and Google Play Store (Android) handle in-app billing. They process your card/bank details directly; we see only the transaction identifier and renewal status.
Advertising
ClipCam shows ads served by Google AdMob in limited places in the app — for example, to unlock a 4K export without a Pro subscription, or when your free storage is full. To serve and measure those ads, Google and its advertising partners may collect and use your device's advertising identifier and related information, including for personalized ads where you have given consent.
Where required, we show a consent prompt (Google's User Messaging Platform) before any ads load, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time from your device's ad settings. Google's use of advertising data is described at policies.google.com/technologies/ads. You can also opt out of personalized ads in your device settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy → Tracking / Apple Advertising; Android: Settings → Google → Ads).
Public content (Duos)
When you publish a Duo, it is public — not private to your account. The video, its caption, your display name and @handle, and engagement counts (likes, comments, views) are visible to anyone, including people who aren't signed in, and can be opened through public shareable links. Search engines and other services may cache or index this content, and copies that others have viewed or shared may persist even after you unpublish a Duo. Only publish content you're comfortable making public — and that you have the rights to share. You can unpublish a Duo at any time from the app.
How long we keep it
- Account info — until you delete your account.
- Media (camera + source + exports) — until you delete the clip, or 30 days after account deletion.
- Crash logs and aggregated analytics — up to 13 months.
- Billing records — kept as long as we're legally required (typically 7 years for tax purposes).
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct anything inaccurate, delete your account and all media, or export your clips. Email us and we'll handle it within 30 days.
- Delete your account — Profile → Settings → Delete account in the app, or email us.
- Withdraw consent — close your account at any time. Cancel a subscription via the App Store or Play Store.
Children
ClipCam is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has signed up, email us and we'll delete the account.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we'll update the date at the top and, when required, notify you in-app or by email before the change takes effect.
